As we approach what the maximum possibilities with our current technology, we have an increasing need to improve and innovate to surpass these limits. In the field of high-energy particle physics, our two-dimensional circuitry cannot perform quickly enough to capture events at higher rates in the Large Hadron Collider, so we must produce a new method for catching these events. The suggested method is 3D vertical integration, which promises higher speeds and an incredibly compact design. The application of these new chips would allow the Large Hadron Collider to increase the number of events it can detect, while putting out only the interesting events. My job was to create animations or models to represent the VIPRAM technology.
