If you were going to help design the "next generation" accelerator for Fermilab, you would have to decide what particles to accelerate, how to accelerate them and how to steer them so they collide in a detector. And, of course, you would have to justify why you need a new accelerator.You will investigate why and how particles are accelerated. In this process you will use many of the standard topics in physics.
