Accelerators and Magnet Data |
       |
|
Many accelerators are circular. There are several ways that you can find some answers:
- What provides the force that causes particles to travel in a circle?
- What characteristics of the particles and their accelerator might be related?
- Get whatever data you want from the The Particle Data Book, Experimental Methods and Colliders.
- Use some data that has been collected for you from both a recent and an older version of The Particle Data Book.
Download an Excel spreadsheet for electron-positron colliders or the html version
and/or an Excel spreadsheet for proton-antiproton colliders or the html version.
- Your suggestions?
A quick link for those new to Excel.
Analyze the data to find relationships.
- Summarize in words what you discovered.
- Were there any surprises?
- Does this relate to any other data you have seen in the study of particles and magnets?
