John Taylor Presidential Award Finalist

John Taylor, science teacher at Memorial High School, Elkhart, Indiana, is a state finalist for the Presidential Awards for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching (PAEMST).

A National Committee will meet in Washington, D.C., to choose the state Presidential Awardees. The candidate chosen to be the Presidential Awardee will be notified by the White House, receive $10,000, and be honored in various ceremonies during a trip to the nation's capital. Congratulations John!

The Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching (PAEMST) is the highest recognition that a kindergarten through 12th-grade mathematics or science teacher may receive for outstanding teaching in the United States. Enacted by Congress in 1983, this program authorizes the President to bestow up to 108 awards each year.
