In a small group make two lists on a large sheet of paper:
- What you know about detection of particles.
- Questions that you have about detection of particles,
or ideas that you aren't sure about.
You need to know these before you go further:

What are two characteristics of a particle that you can determine
from its track in a magnetic field?
Check the
Helmholz coil apparatus or
OnScreen software.
- What kind(s) of particle(s) is/are very difficult or
impossible to detect? Why?
